Our Curriculum

Our Curriculum – Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Children are born ready, able and eager to learn. They actively reach out to interact with the environment and people in the world around them. We encourage the natural stages of development and milestones of each child, scaffolding them with expert planning and reactionary interactions from our staff.  Thus our ethos is to understand that child development depends on each unique child having opportunities to interact in positive relationships and enabling environments. We follow the following EYFS guidance and principles:

Prime Areas:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional
  • Physical Development
  • Communication and Language

Specific Areas:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

Development matters 2021

Development Matters (2021) provides numerous advantages for early years practitioners as a non-statutory guidance document supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). It enhances practitioners’ understanding of how young children learn and develop, enabling more effective teaching and assessment. By applying this guidance, practitioners can more effectively adapt their approaches to meet each child’s unique needs, promoting the highest standards of care and education.

Extra Curriculum

At Pitta Patta Nursery, we believe that learning goes beyond the classroom. Our carefully selected extra-curricular activities provide exciting opportunities for children to explore new interests, develop skills, and build confidence. From creative arts to physical play, our enriching programs ensure a well-rounded early learning experience that’s both fun and educational.
